Miss Maggie

If you stare at them... They get bigger.

Look ma, no strings.

Men DIG redheads!

Miss Maggie in her own words:

I was born in Evansville, Indiana. My family moved to Algiers, Louisiana when I was two years old. I graduated from Ursuline Academy and I went to Louisiana Tech University for two years. I have always been "musical". I took piano lessons from age five to seventeen and I'm classically trained. I won a Bach contest one year in high school. Before I started singing professionally, I was a closet singer. I would have inspirational jam sessions when I was completely alone. Apart from singing in the church choir and in school, I actually didn't start singing in public until about 10 years ago. I was lucky because my first real band ("NAKED BY MIDNIGHT") was with extremely experienced musicians who exposed me to performing live! I loved it! They made me want more. I have been in a few other cover bands such as "SUDDEN IMPACT" (pop), "Glory Rhodes" (pop), "DRIVING MISS MAGGIE" (alternative), and I worked with Frank Fairbanks doing acoustical duo work around town. Currently, what I am most proud of is singing on two original music CDs. One called Quarter in the Juke Box with Skip Easterling and the other is with my current band "THE BLUE MULES" (pop/folk). I feel fortunate because I have dabbled in a lot of styles of music and have learned a lot. If you ever want to hear me sing, I sing the blues with Big Daddy O on the Northshore quite often. I'm influenced by Bonne Raitt, Melissa Etheridge, Sheryl Crow and the legendary Patsy Cline. One of the many things I've learned is that I thrive on people and music. That's why this job at Cats Meow is perfect for me to satisfy my artistic craving. I will be starting Massage Therapy School in the Spring, but MC'ing at Cats Meow will still be my outlet for singing while touching other peoples lives with my God Given talents and perhaps to bring someone else's God Given talents out.
Hope to see you soon!!!

Miss Maggie
